Rutledge is a borough of approximately 800 residents located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, about nine miles southwest of Philadelphia. The borough, which was founded in 1885, occupies an area of four blocks by three blocks and has a park and a stately old borough hall. Many of the homes in the community date to the late 1800s and the lovely grounds of the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College are nearby. SEPTA’s Regional Rail Media/Elwyn train line serves the borough with a stop at the Morton-Rutledge Station. Rutledge is part of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District.
