Resident/Guest (expression of interest in open PC seat): Alexandra Foster

Planning Commission Seats

Alexandra Foster expression of interest in participation on the Planning Commission, noting her background, experience, skills, and related perspectives. PC members shared the current and projected focus of the PC, and flexibility in terms of expectations for individual PC members.  At the end of the meeting, Alexandra noted that she would discuss the PC role with her family and confirm her interest (which was subsequently confirmed so that her appointment could be formalized by Borough Council).

Comprehensive Plan Tracking

Sean noted that at the 4/20 Borough Council work session the proposed process will start, requesting updates from Borough Council.

Andrew mentioned a potential engagement opportunity at the Rutledge 4th of July celebration, utilizing a touch screen display.

Triangle Park Programming

Prior to the PC meeting, Joe shared the response/information provided by the Triangle Park designer in terms of resources and suggestions about a process to develop a system to promote and mange the expanded programming and events at Triangle Park.  Joe is following up on the same with Heidi Sentivan.

Steve questioned how this (programming) is handled with Borough Hall, noting that there might be an integrated way to handle these two borough assets.  Sean will follow up with Borough Council.

Steve’s comments touched on the Borough hall as a community resiliency hub, which has been discussed in the past in the context of the Comp Plan update and Climate Action Plan.. 

New Business

Steve raised the Aqua merger as another example of an external factor that could have a potential impact on the Borough, raising questions about the PC radar, role, coordination with surrounding boroughs, other potential threats related to utilities, healthcare, data centers, etc.   Joe noted that some of these threats are addressed in the Emergency Management Plan and he will circulate separate information on a resiliency planning process/check list.
