Hall Rental

The Rutledge Borough Hall is located at 212 Unity Terrace and has two rental spaces available; an Upper Hall and Lower Hall. The Halls are commonly rented for birthdays, communions, confirmations, funeral luncheons, graduation parties, and showers.

The Halls are available to the general public; there is no need to have a connection to Rutledge Borough. Borough residents receive a discount on rentals once per year.

General Information

Rentals are typically available Friday – Sunday. Weekday rentals require approval from Borough Council except in cases of bereavement. Rentals in the Upper Hall may go as late as 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and as late as 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Rentals in the Lower Hall may go as late as 5:00 p.m. 

A standard rental is 4 hours plus a 2-hour setup period prior to the start of the event and a 1-hour cleanup period after the event concludes. Additional setup time and event time can be requested. If approved, the additional time will be billed at an overtime rate of $150 per hour. Tables and chairs are included with the rental.

A refundable security deposit is required to secure a rental.

Rental Restrictions

Overlapping Rentals

Overlapping rentals in the Upper and Lower Hall are prohibited. The overlapping period is defined as only the rental window itself. The setup and cleanup periods are not considered when determining if a requested rental overlaps with an existing rental. Due to this restriction and the limited hours available, we can only allow one rental on Sundays.

Alcohol Service

Beer, wine, champagne and/or seltzers only may be served at functions. No mixed drinks are allowed! Alcohol can be served, not sold. Service of alcohol is the sole responsibility of the renters. If alcohol is to be served at the event, renters must obtain a Certificate of Liability for a minimum of $100,000 that names the Borough of Rutledge as additional insured.

Interested in a rental?

Generally, we would recommend providing at least 6 weeks lead time in advance of the date you need to rent the hall, though longer may be preferred. To request a rental please email Rutledgemanager@gmail.com and provide:

  • Your name
  • Your contact information
  • Whether you are looking to rent the Upper Hall or Lower Hall
  • The date/time you are looking to rent

You can also call 484-474-0211 and leave a voicemail with the above information, but be sure to also include an email address that can be used to reply. Please note, this phone number is not actively staffed.

We will respond to your request as soon as administratively possible.


The Upper Hall

Details

  • Maximum occupancy of 120 people
  • Elevator access for those with accessibility needs
  • Full kitchen
  • 2 bathrooms
  • Choice of round or rectangular tables for guests
  • Stage
  • Rentals in the Upper Hall may go as late as 9:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and as late as 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Fees

  • 2024 Rate: $1,000 for a 4 Hour Rental (Rutledge residents will receive a $250 discount once per year)
  • Refundable Booking Fee/Security Deposit: $250 (must cancel at least 60 days before event for refund)
  • Extra rental or setup time: $150 per hour
  • Security Guard required for events with 75+ guests: $40 per hour (must include the post-event clean up to ensure the Hall is vacated and locked). 

Set Up Options

We have five 31-inch round high-top tables for use in either hall.  These tables are on a request only basis. If you wish to use them, please let us know ASAP so they are not taken by another rental.


The Lower Hall

  • Extra rental or setup time: $150 per hour
